Details

The Larimer County IT Department is looking for someone to join an established team of professional self starters in our Project Management Group.  We follow the PMBOK and value efficiency and organization over documentation for the sake of documentation.  We expect a Senior Project Manager to have extensive experience, allowing the individual to get up to speed with our systems and start being productive almost immediately.  Our team values a work environment with a sustainable work life balance, professional co-workers, and the satisfaction that comes from doing work that serves our citizens and makes our community a better place to live. We see local government as a place to grow, add value to our citizens, innovate, and become a leading governmental IT organization.  If these are important to you, we encourage you to apply to be the newest member of our team!

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of the planning and execution of IT and Process Improvement programs and projects from conception to final project delivery, including the coordination and integration of activities, resources, scopes, schedules, and budgets of each assigned project.  The Senior Project Manager directly manages a broad spectrum of projects in terms of complexity and scale with multiple interdependencies.

Specifically, a Senior Project Manager:

  • Develops, creates, executes and revises project plans including scope, schedule, and budget baselines.
  • Provides project tracking, updates, and analysis of key performance indicators throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Tracks and reports on variance data in relation to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Manages project interrelationships to avoid resource conflicts and to ensure timely delivery of multiple interrelated projects.
  • Advises Division/Department on application customizations, interface strategies with other County data, and to recommend improvements to business procedures, processes, or work flow.
  • Performs Project Post Implementation Reviews (PIR) for closed projects; uses PIRs to determine best practices and apply them to Project Management Group processes.
