Larimer County Natural Resources is searching for an individual that wants to join our team of professionals as an Accountant I!


Our mission is to establish, protect, and manage significant regional parks and open lands providing quality outdoor recreational opportunities and stewardship of natural resource values. We are committed to fostering a sense of community and appreciation for the natural and agricultural heritage of Larimer County for present and future generations.


This is an entry level Accountant performing assigned accounting functions and working under the guidance of management personnel. Understands accounting methods, procedures and terms. Apply and review accounting processes within scope of work. May act as a coordinator of accounting matters as they affect other departments.


Specifically this position:

  • May supervise technician or administrative support work through direct guidance.
  • Input financial data, create reports and communicate trends.
  • Maintain accounting files by reviewing, monitoring, balancing and preparing journal entries.
  • Prepare, monitor and analyze financial data
  • Evaluate internal policies and procedures and make recommendations
  • Audit, monitor and reconcile the financial data

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 0-2 years relevant experience
  • An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen. As marijuana is an illegal substance under federal law, testing positive for marijuana (medical or otherwise) or any other substance for which the county tests, will result in the contingent offer of employment being revoked. A successful completion of the drug screen is defined as obtaining a negative result.

This position is limited term with Full time hours. Limited Term positions are NOT the same as temporary positions.  Individuals hired into limited term positions are eligible for ALL County benefits, however, the position is limited in duration dependent upon available funding, business need or signed contract or agreement. This position will last approximately 7 years.
