Details

The Ranch, Larimer County Fairgrounds and Event Center is seeking a skilled individual to join our team as a full time Events Maintenance Worker.  Events Maintenance Workers perform building support services work involving the care, maintenance, and cleaning of event equipment, facilities, buildings, and grounds at the Ranch Events Complex so the public can continue to enjoy all of the events at our site.  This position provides basic janitorial duties, landscaping, grounds maintenance, snow removal, meeting and event setup and tear down, minor maintenance and repair, and customer service. 

 

Specifically, this position: 

  • Supervises part-time employees and volunteers.
  • Ensures that all event set ups and tear downs are completed per instructions given by event coordinators and promoters
  • Repairs, maintains and assists in fabricating and constructing event equipment, which may include stages (metal/wood), ramps (loading, entrance, handicap), event specific paneling, floor and deck hold downs, cable hangers, panel storage racks (metal and wood), shelving, bleachers, event specific floor coverings (plywood decks, ice and dirt coverings, carpet), handrails, barricades and barriers (metal, wood, concrete, chain link mesh) and other similar projects. 
  • Operates, maintains, adjusts, and repairs a wide variety of equipment. Heavy equipment including, but not inclusive of, forklifts, single and tandem axle dump trucks, water trucks, tractors, skidsteer loaders, front end loaders, boom lifts, scissor lifts, roller packers, back hoes, and various pull behind equipment necessary in the repair, maintenance, and alteration of parking lots, sidewalks, electrical and audio lines (overhead and buried), roofs, lighting structures, arena flooring, and the movement, placement, and erection of materials used to produce customer events. 
  • Understands calculations of event expenses and tracking of expenses, and is capable of tracking those expenses and communicating them with event coordinators via written logs, email, or verbal communication.

The Ranch Events Complex is a 244-acre site located in Loveland, CO.  Our facility is designed on a circular plot, standing at the center a person is never more than 300 yards from any one space.  The Ranch Events complex is comprised of event buildings, beautifully landscaped lawns, as well as indoor and outdoor arenas.  The Ranch campus also includes the Budweiser Events Center, a 7,200 seat multi-purpose venue utilized for events such as Colorado Eagles Hockey, concerts, comedians and monster trucks.  Watch this brief video to learn more about the Ranch.

 

 

 

Qualifications for Events Maintenance Worker I:

  • One year of experience in a directly related field, or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities.
  • High School diploma or GED required, supplemented by specialized courses in building construction and maintenance. 
  • Possession of a valid Colorado Driver's License, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Class B CDL with air brake and tanker endorsement within 90 days of employment.

Qualifications for Events Maintenance Worker II:

  • Two years of experience in a directly related field, or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities.
  • High School diploma or GED required, supplemented by specialized courses in building construction and maintenance. 
  • Possession of a valid Colorado Driver's License, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Class B CDL with air brake and tanker endorsement within 90 days of employment.

 Other Information to Note:

  • An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check. As marijuana is an illegal substance under federal law, testing positive for marijuana (medical or otherwise) or any other substance for which the county tests, will result in the contingent offer of employment being revoked. A successful completion of the drug screen is defined as obtaining a negative result.
