A Jail Control Room Specialist plays a critical role in the security of the jail, controlling access to and movement within the Jail. 

 

Specifically, Jail Control Room Specialists:

  • Verify that all incoming personnel are cleared to enter the facility.
  • Both visually and auditorily monitor activities throughout the facility via cameras and intercoms.
  • Remotely operate jail secuirty doors.
  • Communicate effectively via phone or intercom with inmates, professional visitors, and the public by providing information and directions.

Details

Qualifications:

  • No experience required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current first aid and community CPR certificates.

Other Information to Note:

  • This job posting is for an eligibility list only.
  • Shift work required.
  • Shifts require working days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check. As marijuana is an illegal substance under federal law, testing positive for marijuana (medical or otherwise) or any other substance for which the county tests will result in the contingent offer of employment being revoked. A successful completion of the drug screen is defined as obtaining a negative result.
  • All application components must be submitted by 10:00 PM MT on the closing date.
  • Successful applicants will be required to meet all of the following qualifications prior to hire:
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
    • Cannot have a felony conviction
    • No convictions involving domestic violence
    • No use of illegal drugs within the past five years
    • No use of marijuana in any form within the last two years
    • Pass integrity questionnaire
    • Pass a written examination to be held on 2/16/18 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon
    • Simulation Test -- date to be determined
    • Pass oral board interview -- date to be determined
    • Pass an in-depth background investigation including criminal history and financial status
    • Pass polygraph examination
    • Pass psychological evaluation and medical examination, including drug testing
    • Possess or obtain First Aid and CPR (All Ages) certificates by date of hire 
    • Possess or obtain these NIMS certifications by date of hire: IS-100.b, IS-200.b, and IS-700.a
