    This position will play an important role as part of the Finance (Fiscal) Unit

     

    The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a rockstar Business Operations Coordinator to join our Fiscal Unit.  

     

    The ideal candidate would have a Bachelor's Degree within the financial industry; public accounting experience;  an exceptional ability to gather, analyze and process accounting data in the form of reports and spreadsheets; drafting financial policies or procedures and extensive experience with contracts.   This candidate would also be a natural problem-solver and multi-tasker willing to take on new projects and challenges.

     

     

    Specifically, a Business Operations Coordinator:

    • Oversees and ensures that the administrative functions of the Fiscal unit or program(s) to which assigned are carried out. Establishes and maintains systems, processes, and policies; monitors and evaluates functions; develops and implements policy.
    • Identifies, develops, implements, and maintains various methodologies and processes that improve the quality of work.
    • Conducts special research projects, including gathering, compiling, and analyzing information; provides alternatives and make recommendations on courses of action.
    • Prepares complex reports, manuals, bid proposals, requests for proposals, and other documents for special projects, programs, and research; gives presentations on findings.
    • Develops, prepares, and updates user manuals, procedures, process flows, and training materials.
    • Answers complex questions and assist in resolving complex problems requiring professional advice.
    • Compiles information and maintain complex databases for tracking information for reporting purposes.
    • Works with users to support business applications and investigates operational problems/system requirements, to include user access and security as applicable.
    • Prepares and administers contracts for projects and programs including determining sources and vendors, coordinating activities, and tracking expenditures.

    Qualifications:

    • Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field. Equivalent years of experience and/or post-secondary education may substitute for a Bachelor’s Degree. (Preference of Accounting Degree or Experience in Public Accounting)
    • Five years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities (a strong accounting background is preferred).
    • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid  Driver's License within six months from date of hire.

     

    A little more information specific to this job for the Finance (Fiscal) Unit:

    • Administers the payment process.
    • Communicates with vendors and other outside agencies; responds auditor requests for information.
    • Prepares, verifies, and enters departmental journal entries and inter-departmental transfers.
    • Plans for major system upgrades and enhancements that impact Sheriff's Office operations.
