    The Larimer County District Attorney's Office is seeking a restitution specialist to join our team and provide administrative and victim assistance duties.   The successful candiate will coordinate, validate, and calculate information regarding crime impact on victims to be utilized for determining restitution owed to crime victims.


    About our Office and This Role:

    The Office of the District Attorney is a state office constitutionally established to enforce the criminal laws of the State of Colorado.  As a function of our work prosecuting criminal cases on behalf of the State of Colorado, we are responsible for providing documentation to the court about the amount of restitution - or repayment of financial losses paid by a criminal defendant - owed to a victim in the criminal case. 


    Working in this role you could expect to:  

    • Assist in the coordination of the the restitution program, services, and activities of the District Attorney's Office.
    • Collect information from victims, insurance agencies, and businesses to determine amount of restitution to be ordered.
    • Review, verify, and process documents in accordance with departmental procedures, state statutes, and legal forms.
    • Act as a liaison with the Deputy District Attorney concerning input from victims for restitution.
    • Receive and implement changes per the District Attorney's position on restitution policies and state statutes.
    • Initiate, create, and review correspondence to advise clients of status of restitution.

    • Understanding of Legal terminology, and proficient in the correct usage of spelling, punctuation and grammar in the English language.
    • Ability to Prepare a variety of legal correspondence and paperwork.
    • Provides professional customer service to clients and the public.
    • Ability to effectively respond to conflict situations and people in conflict.

    • One (1) year of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities required.
    • High School diploma or GED required, supplemented by coursework in business, accounting, or a related field.
