    Northern Colorado’s premier event center is seeking an experienced Event Coordinator I or II DOQ to join our team of experienced event professionals.  Event Coordinators assist and organize public and special event utilization of the Fairgrounds facilities and buildings.  They also assist in marketing efforts of the Larimer County Fairgrounds complex, events, and activities. The team is responsible for hundreds of events annually at the Ranch, Larimer County’s 244-acre event complex and fairgrounds.  If you enjoy the excitement of planning, organizing, and coordinating the moving parts of events, then this is the career opportunity for you!

    Specifically, this position: 

    • Exercises indirect or direct supervision over temporary events staff and/or assigned part time personnel and interns.
    • Meets with customers and potential customers to coordinate and assist with event planning including, but not limited to, equipment, food and beverage services, facility equipment and layout, ticketing, parking and traffic, and public awareness, to achieve goal and objectives of the event and its customers.
    • Assists with the planning and operations of the annual Larimer County Fair & Rodeo, Good Guys Car Show, Big Thunder Draft Horse Show, other appropriate campus-wide events, and all Ranch self-promoted events as directed by Senior Events Manager. Participation may include chairing a specific committee or other operational group.
    • Performs or supervises the accounting and budgeting activities necessary for their specific events. This may include, but not be limited to, the production of a pre-event budget or cost estimate, post-event settlement and a complete and final event profit and loss statement.
    • Designs the set-up, plans, and coordinates the event and facilitates all logistics for each event, including coordination and communication with other employees and outside vendors.
    • Ensures all required contracts are authorized and approved; negotiates and makes modification to contracts within scope of authority; confirms all events and reservations.
    • Attends events and supervise activities; writes event reports; resolves event issues and complaints; makes last minute adjustments; ensures event is set up as contracted.

    The Ranch Events Complex is a growing 244-acre facility located in Loveland, CO. The complex is comprised of several event buildings, including 36,000 square feet of exhibit hall space, conference and classroom spaces, a 76,000 square foot indoor arena and several outdoor arenas as well as beautifully landscaped grounds. The campus also includes the Budweiser Events Center, a 7,200 seat multi-purpose venue utilized for events such as Colorado Eagles Hockey, concerts, comedians and monster trucks. 

     

    Qualifications for Event Coordinator I:

    • One (1) year of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities required.
    • Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, or a related field required.
    • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Driver's License.

     

    Qualifications for Event Coordinator II:

    • Three (3) years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities required.
    • Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent experience required.
    • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Driver's License.

    Other Information to Note:

    • An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen. As marijuana is an illegal substance under federal law, testing positive for marijuana (medical or otherwise) or any other substance for which the county tests, will result in the contingent offer of employment being revoked. A successful completion of the drug screen is defined as obtaining a negative result.
