    Larimer County Child Protection is looking for individuals who want to be part of an interactive team and work in a fast-paced and supportive environment.

    In this position you will respond to a range of issues which may require over the phone advice or general support during a crisis or difficult situation. Some situations may require face to face contact with families to assess for child protection issues.


    The successful candidate will have experience working with clients and be able to build strong professional relationships quickly with families.  Working in conjunction with daytime Caseworkers and having the ability to provide safety and management plans for children.

    This job works well for someone who is looking for an alternative schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays.  Scheduling is flexible; however, you will be required to attend regular Monday meetings during the daytime and occassional additional days required for meetings, trainings and court. Work hours WILL be scheduled for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Availability for this schedule is REQUIRED for all applicants.

    • Direct experience is not required.
    • Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in a human behavioral sciences field. Examples of degree titles include Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Human Development/Family Studies.
    • In order to meet the minimum educational requirements of a human behavioral science degree, the applicant must have a degree with major course work (equivalent to 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours) in either development of human behavior, child development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures or therapeutic techniques such as social work, psychology, sociology, guidance and counseling, and child development.
    • Maintain continuing education hours annually, and comply with state training requirements.
    • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado Driver's License.
    • An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check. As marijuana is an illegal substance under federal law, testing positive for marijuana (medical or otherwise) or any other substance for which the county tests, will result in the contingent offer of employment being revoked. A successful completion of the drug screen is defined as obtaining a negative result.


    All new employees and rehires will be required submit fingerprints for a FBI criminal background check (C.R.S. 26-6-104)
