  • Overview

    More than one in every five children in America today receives financial and medical assistance from noncustodial parents through the US child support program.  This is accomplished by locating each parent, establishing paternity and support obligations, and enforcing those obligations. 


    The Senior Accounting Technician position involves providing financial, administrative and

    clerical support to the Child Support program.  Attention to detail and data entry skills are important requirements for this position.


    Larimer County's Department of Human Services mission is to provide safety and support for children and vulnerable citizens.

    Specifically this position:

    • Enters data in computer, ledger and other accounting records.
    • Maintains accounting records, statements of accounts, summaries and reports.
    • Conducts complex accounting functions for child support technicians.
    • Read and interpret court orders to ensure child support payments are applied correctly
    • Gain and maintain knowledge of state and federal regulations, mandates and deadlines.


    Education and Experience

    • Knowledge of accounts payable
    • Knowledge of general accounting procedures
    • Proficient in data entry and management
    • 1-3 years accounts payable or general accounting experience
    • High School diploma/GED is required, along with some specialized accounting classes
