  • Overview

    The Department of Human Services provides services which assist individuals and families to achieve self-sufficiency and social well being.


    This position will require daily interaction with clients providing outstanding customer service in all areas including; interviewing for direct services, processing application to determine eligibility, and referring clients to local agencies.  The ideal candidate will take initiative, work independently as well as in a team environment, and thrive in a fast paced work environment.  A  successful  candidate will achieve satisfaction of knowing what you do will make a difference in someone’s life within the Larimer County Community. 


    This is a fast paced environment with competing deadlines and extensive customer contact via walk-ins and phones. Punctuality and attendance are critical to be successful in this role.   You will receive up to six months of training when you begin and ongoing training as needed. Due to the volume of incoming work items, you will not not have your own client caseload. You will work as a team to achieve accuracy and timeliness goals.


    While Spanish Bilingual is a plus, a language line is available for translation of various languages.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Two years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities such as extensive public contact.
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.
    • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado Driver's License.

    An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen. As marijuana is an illegal substance under federal law, testing positive for marijuana (medical or otherwise) or any other substance for which the county tests, will result in the contingent offer of employment being revoked. A successful completion of the drug screen is defined as obtaining a negative result.
