  • Overview

    Larimerr County Health and Environment is looking for an Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and will be forward thinking, creative, possess exceptional interpersonal skills and have the ability to create and manage successful teams. The person in this new position will be responsible for modernizing processes with a focus on financial systems and trends. The Larimer County Health and Environment Department operates on an $11 million dollar budget, which includes complex grants and contracts that will be under the oversight of the Accounting Manager.


    Key roles in this job include:

    • Development of financial goals and objectives in conjunction with supervisory staff and clearly communicates goals and objectives to all Health and Environment Staff.
    • Coordinates preparation and review of department budgets, business plans, and performance measures.
    • Analyzes and monitors department expenditures and revenues.
    • Researches ways to reduce costs and maximize reimbursement for services provided

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
    • Seven years of progressively responsible experience in governmental accounting or similar accounting duties
    • Two years supervisory experience
