    The Larimer County Department of Health and Environment is looking for a dynamic individual to join our team!

     

    We are looking for a positive, can-do individual to provide executive level administrative support for the Health and Environment Leadership team and the Board of Health as they lead this forward-thinking, innovative, and busy office. 

     

    The ideal candidate is someone with excellent situational, written, and verbal communication skills who can “think on their feet,” anticipate needs, and perform at a high level with little direction and/or with differing viewpoints.  Excellent grammar and computer skills are needed, as is attention to detail and outstanding customer service.  This position provides an opportunity to work on a small team who provide administrative support to all employees of Health and Environment.  If that is you, we can't wait to hear from you!

    Details

    Additional duties for this position include but are not limited to:

    • Confidential and high-level administrative work on behalf of the Public Health Director, Board of Health, and department managerial staff.
    • Event planning, including coordinating, collaborating, preparation of materials and communications, and successful deployment.
    • Scheduling and coordinating executive meetings, conferences, interviews, and/or appointments, and prepares agendas and meeting materials.
    • Researching, prioritizing and following-up on incoming issues and concerns addressed to executive leadership, and recommend appropriate action or response.
    • Managing conflicting priorities; anticipating needs, handles matters pro-actively and expeditiously and following through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures.

    • Planning and booking travel for staff as necessary
    • Submitting and tracking tickets to track facilities issues or technology requests

    Qualifications:

    • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by additional clerical or office administration coursework.
    • Five years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities as a senior level secretary or office administration.

    An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check. As marijuana is an illegal substance under federal law, testing positive for marijuana (medical or otherwise) or any other substance for which the county tests, will result in the contingent offer of employment being revoked. A successful completion of the drug screen is defined as obtaining a negative result.
