    A Human Resources Technician is responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day human resource operations, for programs such as recruitment, performance management, learning and development, compensation and other programs supporting human resources service delivery. 


    The Larimer County Sheriff's Office Personnel Team is seeking an administratively savvy individual with a natural ability to organize and problem-solve for our customers (employees and candidates).  Your work would focus largely on in-depth administrative recruiting functions but also handle day-to-day tasks such as data entry, scanning, emailing, coordinating, assisting with trainings and coordinating and participating in New-Hire Orientation.  The ideal candidate is self-motivated, thinks outside-of-the-box, and is willing to work with a team to  build positive relationships within the Sheriff's Office and other County Departments. 


    Specifically,  Human Resources Technicians:

    • Interprets and applies appropriate human resource policies and regulations.
    • Consults to create and post job announcements on Larimer County's employment website, social media, and Workforce Center; researches and recommends additional posting sources as needed.
    • Facilitates and manages the pre-employment and promotional testing and screening activities, to include drug, medical, and psychological evaluations; develops initial screening criteria; evaluates and screens applications; monitors compliance; reports, communicates and manages results to include eligibility listings as applicable.
    • Assembles information for law enforcement background investigation processes, as applicable.
    • Prepares and delivers user guides, procedures, process flows, and training materials.
    • Processes forms and reports for Human Resource program area, evaluating accuracy, completion and validity to include legal employment documents (I-9, W-4, etc.).
    • Assists in compensation, to include responses to surveys and requests for data, updating spreadsheets and collecting analytics as applicable.
    • Assists with employee/personnel projects or programs.
    • Supports Human Resources training activities to include posting classes electronically, facility requests, rosters, marketing, and billing.
    • Coordinates and attends job fairs. May conduct onsite interviews.
    • Establishes and maintains relationships with hiring managers; facilitates communication and interaction.
    • Gathers and reports metrics; provides reporting on results and necessary information, provides recommendations for improvement based on the results of the information gathered.
    • Maintains confidential records, files, and computerized data systems; ensures complete and accurate data is entered into the system; monitors required retention and disposition of personnel records.

    • Two (2) years of experience in a directly related field, or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities required.
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Two (2) years of experience with Human Resources applications and system support preferred.

    Other information to note:

    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
    • Cannot have a felony conviction
    • No convictions involving domestic violence
    • No use of illegal drugs within the past five years
    • No use of marijuana in any form within the past two year
    • An extensive background check will be required and may take 3-4 weeks
    • A polygraph will be required

    An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen. As marijuana is an illegal substance under federal law, testing positive for marijuana (medical or otherwise) or any other substance for which the county tests, will result in the contingent offer of employment being revoked. A successful completion of the drug screen is defined as obtaining a negative result.
