Larimer County Department of Health and Environment is looking for a part-time COVID-19 Medical Assistant. The Medical Assistant is responsible for COVID-19 testing including set up, day of activities at the testing site, and results follow up.


Specifically, this role:

  • Conducts specimen collections using nasopharyngeal or oropharyngeal swabs at COVID-19 community testing sites
  • Utilizes a database to collect, review, and report testing information
  • Assist with various roles at the test site
  • Help set up and tear down test site
  • Communicates with the public about testing and results. 
  • Ensures safety guidelines, such as proper use of PPE, are followed when necessary

  • Be able to communicate with the general public in a calm and collected manner. 
  • Be self-directed.
  • Have an understanding of medical and drug terminology and general understanding of laboratory testing procedures.
  • Work in a culturally competent manner.

  • Two (2) years of related experience required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid Driver's License required.
  • CPR certification


An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check. As marijuana is an illegal substance under federal law, testing positive for marijuana (medical or otherwise) or any other substance for which the county tests, will result in the contingent offer of employment being revoked. A successful completion of the drug screen is defined as obtaining a negative result.


This is a part time temporary position, anticipated to work under 30 hours a week with no anticipated end date.
